Skins are available at igo8mods.com. If the speed display is only there when you are not navigating, then it is probably displaying as a 'data field'. You need to find the settings for 'Data Fields' (map settings IIRC), and there you will see the option for up to 4 items to display, and this is repeated for when you are navigating to a destination, and when you are not.

Once you select what you want to see (eg compass, time, speed, speed limit, time to destination etc), then return to your main cockpit screen. Now, if you have chosen 4 items and only one is displayed, try pressing on that item and the block of 4 should appear. Pressing any one of these will drop it back to only showing one item, and it will be the item that you pressed.
